We had a chat with Harvey Luke Allen, Concept Hair’s newest Apprentice of the Month!

The Concept Hair Hairdressing & Barbering Apprentice of the Month award celebrates students and apprentices who are passionate about the future of the hairdressing & barbering industry, going above and beyond in their apprenticeships to set the standards of the industry.

Concept Hair has launched the award to recognise the efforts that students and apprentices have put into learning the trade.

Harvey was nominated by his employer, Natalie Allen at Harvey Luke Hair in Derby and was chosen as Apprentice of the Month by our judge Let Lew after a week of voting and testimonials on Instagram and Facebook.

Let said: “He’s willing to put himself through different aspects of hairdressing and showcase what he can do. He will grow from doing things out of his comfort zone. I respect that and think it is very important.”

The award was sponsored by JOICO, who sent Harvey an amazing bundle worth around £100.

Harvey, 16, was nominated for the following reason: “He started on the shop floor in October and is now a competent barber working within a team of four, running a full column.

“He has enrolled in college to broaden his skills by working towards his hairdressing qualification. Youngsters with so much passion in this industry are so hard to find.”
