There’s still time to bag a space at one of the inspiring Salon International shows – and with more than ever to choose from, there’s sure to be something for everyone!
Taking to the stage in the Salon Live Auditorium at this year’s show are Sassoon Academy, Saco Academy, Guy Tang with #mydentity, Schwarzkopf Professional and TONI&GUY. Also taking over the Salon Live space will be Rush with their annual live show and, in a first for Salon International, the Alternative Hair Show will be taking place at ExCeL London.
Fundraising for the Foundation
Over the years, the Alternative Hair Show has taken place in Italy, Austria, Russia, Korea, Japan and the USA. Since its inception, the show has raised more than £12 million towards the Alternative Hair Charitable Foundation Fighting Leukaemia. The show directly supports the Foundation, and provides an inspiring evening of creativity at the same time. This year, the theme for the show is Parody, and a star-studded line up of global talent is on the schedule to present their interpretations on the theme: Anne Veck, Carlo Bay, Dmitry Vinokurov, HOB, Ken Zhou, Klaus Peter Ocha, Laszlo Hajas, Marc Antoni, Mikel Luzea, Rudy Mostarda, Saco, Sanrizz, Sassoon, TIGI Creative Team and TONI&GUY.
A Rush of inspiration
Rush Live is a celebration of the award-winning salon group, with their acclaimed Artistic Team taking to the stage at Salon International to showcase creative looks, techniques, ideas and inspirations. Between them, the team have won more than 15 British Hairdressing Awards, as well as a host of other industry awards. With more than 100 salons across the country, this talented team are masters of combining the creative with the commercial, and that’s precisely what you’ll see in their inspiring show at Salon International.
Saco Academy will be showcasing their latest trend collection in their show, which will be led by International Creative Director, Richard Ashforth. The Saco team sell out their education shows across the globe, thanks to their innovative approach to cut and colour. Now, here’s your chance to see them on home turf as they return to the UK to share some of their celebrated creativity, tips, techniques and trends.
Learn from Sassoon
This year, Sassoon are celebrating 65 years at the forefront of hair education and in their stage show, they’ll be sharing the brand’s essential house codes: technical innovation manifested in architecturally inspired shapes with a human element. To mark their anniversary, the International Creative Team will delve deep into the rich Sassoon legacy to reimagine classic looks spanning from the iconic ‘London look’ to the experimental creativity of modern street style.
Creative but commercial
Team TONI&GUY will be showcasing a host of inspiring collections as they take over the Salon Live auditorium, in a show headed up Global Creative Director Sacha Mascolo-Tarbuck, Head of Education Cos Sakkas and the award-winning Artistic Team. They’ll be presenting the latest creative but commercial looks for TONI&GUY and label.m, as well as trend-led styles direct from the catwalks of London Fashion Week and London Fashion Week Men’s. Finally, the show will close with their always awe-inspiring avant-garde work, in a moment not to be missed.
Guy Tang returns
Following his incredible Salon International debut in 2018, Guy Tang is back for another year at Salon International. His show promises to bring salon-friendly colour techniques, product insight and plenty of the personality that has made him one of the world’s foremost colour experts.
With more than two million followers on Instagram and a host of trending techniques under his belt, Guy will be sharing the colour formulas, innovative ideas and salon-friendly applications that have made him a household name in hairdressing. If you’re a fan of commercial, client-friendly colour that makes an impact, this is one show you have to watch!
Finally, Schwarzkopf Professional will be celebrating its position as one of the industry’s leading global haircare brands with a prestigious line-up of hairdressing greats. Their show will open with the award-winning Rainbow Room International Artistic Team, led by Artistic Directors Suzie McGill and Dylan Brittain. Next to the stage will be Hooker & Young, who boast a staggering 12 nominations for British Hairdresser of the Year between them. Special guest Nick Irwin will be joined on stage by Simon Ellis, creating signature looks and pushing boundaries using OSiS+. The show will then close with an Essential Looks showcase taken on by Tyler Johnston and Lesley Jennison. This innovative interpretation of the new season trends will provide unparalleled insight into the creative process that goes into identifying and interpreting trend-led looks.
