Salon International 2019: Brands, icons and plenty of #hairinspo

Major brands, salons and hair icons flooded ExCeL London once again last weekend for the UK’s largest hair show.

Salon International 2019 saw more than 400 brands showcase their products and services, with tons of amazing deals, demonstrations, hair shows and more on offer to the thousands of hair professionals and trainees attending throughout the weekend.

Colleges and training providers made up the bulk of the crowd on Monday, the event’s traditional Students Day, with lots of freebies and #hairinspo on offer to budding hairstylists.

New products and innovations were launched – including the Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s new learning resource The Knowledge.

Hairdressing heroes

Attending hair shows is a great way to meet your hairdressing heroes and see firsthand the latest looks you can bring from catwalk to client. It also gives you the chance to meet the people behind the hair brands and see how amazing this industry is.

As well as the exhibition, the Salon Live shows also took place throughout the weekend. Taking to the stage at this year’s show were Sassoon Academy, Saco Academy, Guy Tang with #mydentity, Schwarzkopf Professional and TONI&GUY.

Rush returned with their annual live show and, in a first for Salon International, the Alternative Hair Show took place on Sunday evening.

Up close and personal

Additionally, Salon Seminars allowed hairdressers to get up close and personal with industry experts.

These up close and personal sessions are all about education, with big-name hairdressing icons sharing their expert trends, techniques and tips in a relaxed and personal environment.

On Sunday, Patrick Cameron, Mahogany’s creative team, Trevor Sorbie Artistic Team and LA barber icon Sofie ‘StayGold’ Pok revealed their tips and tricks to the crowds.
