Rush celebrates 25 years with Salon International show

Rush celebrated 25 years in the industry with a special Rush Live presentation at Salon International earlier this month.

Co-founder and joint CEO Stell Andrew welcomed the audience to the presentation, sharing images of his partner and co-founder Andy Phouli at the start of their career and the opening of the first Rush Salon in Wimbledon in 1994.

The company, which now has salons in 100 locations throughout the UK, has presented Rush Live at Salon International for each of the past nine years.

Over the years, Rush Live has raised more than £150,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital and this year’s presentation will help to add valuable funds to this total.

Looking to the future

Rush Live also looked to the future, with the Rush Artistic Team showcasing their exceptional creativity in cutting, colouring and styling.

International Creative Director Andy Heasman spoke about the inspiration for the cutting and colouring sections coming from his London Hairdresser of the Year collection, Point Constellation. And Rush Academy Director Adam Bryant talked about training the Rush Team along with hairdressers from around the world.

Also featuring on the stage were the Rush Workshop Team, including three members who joined Rush as apprentices – Ryan Humpage, Michael Rackett and Sophie Chandler.

The three have all risen through the ranks receiving regular promotions,  winning internal competitions and between them have finalised for the British Hairdressing Awards an incredible nine times.
