National Apprenticeship Week 2020: Wickford salon gets training award

no comments

A Wickford salon has been recognised for its outstanding training in hairdressing.

The team at Secrets Hair Salon is the first to receive the new Central Approved Apprentice Training Salon Award from Central Hair Essex.

The award, presented to Secrets Hair Salon during National Apprenticeship Week 2020, will be given to salons working with Central that provide outstanding training in every aspect of hairdressing and barbering.

With National Apprenticeship Week 2020 given the theme of Look Beyond, Central staff believed it was the perfect opportunity to recognise salons who go the extra mile when it comes to not only training apprentices, but motivating and inspiring them too.

Martin Kolton MBE, Chairman of Central, said: “We realise that we work with some remarkable salons and we want to give them the special recognition they deserve. This is what the award is all about.”

‘Inspired and motivated’

The team at Secrets have been working with Central for 20 years and during that time many apprentices have received outstanding training, allowing them to enjoy successful careers in the industry.

Tara Smith, who took over ownership of the salon 12 years ago, said: “The fact that we have such a long track record when it comes to working with Central speaks volumes.

“They support us in everything we do to ensure our apprentices are trained to the highest professional standards, are inspired and motivated and, above all, happy in their jobs.

“It is an absolute honour to be the first salon to get the new Approved Apprentice Training Salon Award and we will be displaying our window sticker with pride!”
