Christina Keen has won the August Concept Hair Learner of the Month award – the first award since we changed the format.
To enter, hair and barbering students and apprentices must tag us in a photo of their work on Instagram and use #ConceptHairLOTM. Our judges Casey Coleman, Let Lew and Lexie Shay Rabbett will choose a top eight which will then go to a public vote at the end of the month before a winner is crowned. For full entry info, click here.
Christina, a Level 3 student The Bournemouth and Poole College, was August’s winner after receiving the most public votes and won a HH Simonsen VS3 Rod from Passion4hair, and a certificate.
She said: “It feels amazing, and I feel very honoured considering all the other entries were so brilliant. It makes me feel further inspired.
“I was going for a glam high pony with my entry, sculpting the curls for a fuller look and fixing to fall on the shoulder – giving a waterfall effect.”
Christina, 32, says she will try her prize out on herself, before putting it in her kit to use on clients.
She says: “I’d love to be able to teach hair up or even one day hopefully have an academy doing bridal workshops, always trying to hit higher standards.
“Hair Up is my absolute passion. I love how the industry is always changing and evolving – but also the people. I’ve met some of the most amazing people just through doing what I love to do.”
Christina is also a finalist in two categories in Concept Hair Apprentice of the Year. Well done Christina!
