Amir Razaie won the February Concept Hair Learner of the Month award – we caught up with him to find out what it means to win.
20-year-old Amir has been in the hair industry for just over 2 years. He has completed his level 2 barbering and is working at the barber shop. From September, he will continue to work towards his level 3 barbering at Solihull college.
Amir’s journey started when his friend introduced him to barbering. He picked it up so easily that he began to love it. “I love all of it but I especially love doing skin fades and I’m trying to learn different techniques to make it easier and look much better.”
When asked what a typical day in his life looks like, Amir explained that he uses each day to practice more, love it more, and find motivation in each day.
Amir’s plans for his career and future are bright, he told Concept Hair Magazine, “I’m really greedy to achieving more skills, winning the competition and gaining qualifications”. He is also hopeful that one day he will open his own barber shop.
Amir said his motivation comes from himself and his clients and his favourite haircut to do is low or medium skin fades, which is what won him this month’s Learner of the Month title.
When asked what it feels like to be a winner, he simply said “Really cool, very nice and amazing!”
Congratulations Amir! Entries are now open for the March award, with the Wella full ‘Colour Mask’ range on offer to the winner!
To enter, hair and barbering students and apprentices must tag us in a photo of their work on social media and use #ConceptHairLOTM. Our judges’ favourites (up to a maximum of eight) then go to a public vote at the end of the month before a winner is crowned. For full entry info, click here.
