Celebrity hairdresser Trevor Sorbie to lead charity dog walk

Celebrity hairdresser Trevor Sorbie is leading a charity dog walk in aid of those suffering from hair loss.

The event will raise money for the hair loss charity mynewhair, which was founded by Trevor in memory of his sister-in-law, Jackie.

Supporters of the charity are being invited to join Trevor and his wife Carole – and the couple’s King Charles Cavalier, Lisbon – for a walk along Stokes Bay Beach, Gosport, on Sunday 29th September.

Starting at 10am, there will be a one-mile walk followed by a barbecue at The Old Lodge Hotel with live music from James G Ford and a charity raffle.

Trevor said: “It was Carole who came up with Walkies for mynewhair and I can’t thank her enough for organising the event.

“It promises to be a fantastic day, from taking in the beautiful beach views to enjoying an afternoon of live music, great food and much more. I just can’t wait to meet everyone, all of the pooches and take part myself.

“The funds raised by Walkies for mynewhair will help the charity to help those affected by cancer or alopecia across the UK and internationally.”

Trevor lives in Gosport and last year converted a room in his home to offer a free wig-customisation service primarily to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy in Hampshire and the surrounding areas.

He added: “I’m world-famous, but mynewhair means more to me. God gave me a gift and I’ve used it pretty well up until now. This is perhaps the most important part of that gift and I’m using it to help people.”

“My wife and I have tried to make the room homely – not like a salon but somewhere comfortable, reassuring. I want each client to feel in safe hands.”

mynewhair is the only national charity dedicated to providing information, advice and support to people experiencing medical hair loss.
