Who is your ultimate hair idol?

Sam McKnight. The work he does is classic, beautiful and creative all at once.

Who would you choose to play you in a Hollywood movie?

Emma Watson. I just think she’s fabulous. She rocks short hair, she rocks long hair and she likes to read books.

Favourite ever hair trend?

I really like the balayage trend that’s current at the moment.

What inspires you the most?

Nature inspires me the most. Just walking out of my flat I immediately see creativity and inspiration.

Favourite celebrity haircut?

I really like Fearne Cotton’s little sassy bob.

Best thing about being a hairdresser?

The best thing about being a hairdresser for me is the diversity in my week and getting to meet incredible people.

Most overrated TV show?

Big Brother probably, it was good when it started but then it definitely trailed off.

One thing you wished the general public knew about hairdressers?

That we are more than just dropouts, that we are creative, we are intelligent. There are so many layers to a hairdresser.

If you could style anyone’s hair, who would it be?

I’d really find it fascinating to do one of the royals, but that’s just because I’d be interested in all their gossip.

Best place on earth?

Oh, for me it’s London. I love being in London.

What do you wish you knew more about?

Everything, I wish I knew more about everything. There are so many subjects in the world. I wish I didn’t have to sleep and could just read and learn all the time.

Dogs or cats?

Cats! My two cats are my babies!

What’s the best way to start the day?

With gratitude.

What fictional place would you most like to visit?

Hogwarts.

What Hogwarts house would you be in?

Gryffindor!

Best non-hairdressing account you follow on Instagram?

A friend of mine is Wolf Sister and I just think her account is beautiful and helps keep you grounded and happy.

What’s the question you get asked most often by clients?

As soon as people find out you’re a hairdresser, they say ‘so what would you do with my hair if I let you do anything?’

What do you think of clients being on the phone during their appointment?

I’m all for it. They can chill out, be on their phone, I’m happy.

Favourite pizza toppings?

I really like pineapple and black olive. I’m such a weirdo!

Which was the best year of your life and why?

The best year of my life was probably 2018 because I decided that I was going to have a year out. I was only going to do things that I wanted to do and I went on my own holiday and it was fabulous.
